If you are trying to log into the portal and you see the error screen at right that says
"There is an issue with the email address you have entered at Banner/Webworld."

Why did this happen?

The portal requires several pieces of information in order to communicate with WebWorld and verify your identity. One of those items is an active email address.

This error is telling us that you either do not have an email address entered in WebWorld OR you are an employee + student and you are using your @mwsu.edu email address as your primary email in WebWorld.

Please read the instructions below to fix this issue.

For this scenario we are going to use the following fake student: Harry Potter (with Mustang ID M12345678)

Step 1

You need to log directly into WebWorld without going through the portal. You can do this by clicking this graphic on the Portal Welcome Page

This takes you to a page that asks for your User ID (that is your Mustang ID) and your PIN (that is preset as your birthdate using 6 numbers MMDDYY) (if you cannot get into WebWorld this way click here)

If you are tech minded - here is the issue and how to fix it.

If you are an employee + an MSU student.

You cannot have your MSU email addresses entered as the "preferred" email address inside WebWorld.

It causes errors when you try to log into the portal as a student and it sees the email address that is also tied to your employee portal login.

So, you need to go directly into WebWorld and change your preferred email address to something other than @mwsu.edu.
